Dr. Marwa Assar

📿Dr. Marwa Assar is a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD), psycho-spiritual teacher, and founder of The H.O.M.E. Institute, which is named after her Heart Over Mind & Ego (H.O.M.E.) Method to psychological and spiritual well-being.
📿Alongside her studies of Islam and continuous dedication to seeking Islamic knowledge, Dr. Marwa has dedicated 10 years to studying psychology, and has a Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degree in psychology. Dr. Marwa is specialized in psycho-spiritual wellness through an Islamic psychological lens, and has spent over the last 15+ years extensively exploring Islamic Psychology and mental and emotional well-being through the Qur’an and sunnah. In 2017, she completed a doctoral research study on “An Islamic Psychological Approach to Psychotherapy,” shedding great light on what Islam has to offer to the field of psychological health. In addition, she has over 10 years of clinical training and experience in providing therapy to diverse populations in various settings, from private practice, to schools, a drug rehab facility, and non-profit mental health organizations.
📿Today, in addition to her work at The H.O.M.E. Institute, where she offers Islamic psycho-spiritual courses, programs, and retreats, she is also a part time psychologist at the Islamic Center of NYU (ICNYU), an adjunct professor of Islamic psychology at Boston Islamic Seminary, and a senior research fellow at Yaqeen Institute.
📿Finally, Dr. Marwa is the author of a psycho-spiritual self-help book, called The Compass Home, highlighting the awakening and aligning power of her Heart Over Mind & Ego (H.O.M.E.) Method, an Islamic psychological approach that takes you on a journey of inner transformation from theory to practice.
